Expectations
All art classes are designed to be success oriented. Students are graded in three areas.
Projects: Projects will be based on a period of history, an artist and/or style in art, and art concepts. Students will be given criteria for their projects and be graded on a rubric. The rubric will include the required outcomes and is leveled: exemplary, proficient, beginning, and lack of evidence. The final project will represent the student’s best effort.
Participation: Participation in class activities are essential. We will maintain a creative, clean, and safe environment. All students will share in the setup and clean up for activities on a daily basis. Each student will participate in all non-graded exercise activities.
Technical Skills: Students will be exposed to art materials and techniques. The expectation is to develop technical skills through instruction, practice, editing and continued practice. These skills will be evident in students exercises and projects throughout the course of the class.
